DETAILED ORGANIZATION OF HIS FINANCIAL AFFAIRS Interesting document, adressed to Angelo Mignani in Bologna, his agent for financial, legal and musical matters. Rossini liked to bombard his agents with requests for information about their activities and for financial inducements, demanding that they follow exactly his instructions and often complicated orders. Rossini was so pleased with Mignani that he even provided in his last will that a gift should be made to him. (Weinstock: Rossini, pp.279, 281 and 420). In his letter, Rossini gives instructions on how to deal with various payments and bills of exchange. Furthermore, Rossini informs that Donna Maria or Marico is leaving his house and that he regrets losing her. A complete transcription of the letter and a German translation are available. Rossini bombardierte gerne seine Bevollmächtigten mit Bitten um Informationen über ihre Tätigkeiten und um finanzielle Anbrechungen, mit der Forderung, seine Instruktionen und oft komplizierten Aufträge genau zu befolgen. Rossini war mit Mignani so zufrieden, dass er sogar in seinem Testament vorgesehen hat, dass ihm ein Geschenk gemacht werden solle. (Weinstock: Rossini, S.279, 281 und 420). Rossini gibt in seinem Brief Anweisungen, wie mit verschiedenen Zahlungen und Wechseln umgegangen werden soll.
