Manuscript as copy of the rare quintet version, which first appeared in print in 1802 in the edition of A. E. Müller by Breitkopf & Härtel. The Ouverture, "a stormy-moving prelude in minor colors," depicts the transition from winter to spring. The following 1st chorus of the Landvolk is "one of the unforgettably memorable inspirations to which Haydn's oratorios owe their great folksiness." (Reclam's Choral Music and Oratorio Guide, 7th ed., p. 331f.) - Manuskript als Abschrift der seltenen Quintett-Fassung, die erstmals gedruckt 1802 in der Bearbeitung von A. E. Müller bei Breitkopf & Härtel erschien. Die Ouverture, "ein stürmisch-bewegtes, in Moll-Farben gehaltenes Vorspiel" schildert den Übergang vom Winter zum Frühling. Der Folgende 1.
