Lightly browned and a bit fingerstained, lower corner of title page reinforced. some leaves a bit tightly trimmed with insignificant loss of text of headings, but no loss of music. With auxiliary inscriptions by a conductor in blue and red crayon. Title and a few leaves stamped. Half cloth in contemporary style.

AS FULLSCORE NEVER BEEN PRINTED - MANUSCRIPT AS SIGNIFICANT SOURCE The edition of a score announced in the Wiener Zeitung on 20.11.1834 never happened, only piano reductions exist of this successful opera, but no printed fullscore (see MGG). Therefore, the present very rare and easily readable manuscript of the first act of the opera has a special significance, also due to the additions of the recitatives. The opera was first performed in Vienna at the Josephstädter Theater on January 13, 1834, and due to its triumphant success it remained on the repertoire until 1838, with a total of 30 performances. No. 2 "Duetto" has a recitative with 3 leaves inserted on other music paper, as well as 8 leaves of recitative before No. 3 and one leave of recitative before No. 4 "Aria e Duetto", which can be explained by the fact that Kreutzer composed additional recitatives to the original text in order to lengthen the opera somewhat and to fill an entire opera evening (See Brecht, Karl-Peter: C. Kreutzer Biography and Catalogue of Works, p. 133 ff.). This manuscript is stamped on some leaves "Dir. d. K. Freist. Theater in Temeswar Eduard Reimann" on some leaves. It can therefore be assumed that it was used by Reimann (1833-98, German actor and theater director) for his opera performances when he was active in Timisoara from 1862-1870.
